Dustin Poirier missing from new Bud Light UFC ad after arrest
Dustin Poirier did not appear in Bud Light's latest commercial during UFC 329, marking a break from the brand's usual roster after the former interim lightweight champion's recent arrest.
According to Sherdog, the spot that aired on Paramount+ featured only ring announcer Bruce Buffer, a departure from previous ads that included Poirier among other UFC personalities. Poirier was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport last month on a public intoxication charge after reportedly threatening an officer and using a racial slur when denied boarding. He posted bail and has since acknowledged losing a major sponsor and multiple business deals tied to the incident.
Poirier's sponsorship status with Bud Light unclear
The Louisiana native has publicly addressed what he called mental health struggles following the arrest. Sean Strickland initially mocked Poirier's comments but later reversed course, telling fans he spoke with Poirier directly and warned Bud Light against dropping him. "That is the most un-American f*cking thing you can do," Strickland said in a video posted July 8. "At his lowest time, you contemplate letting him go? Bud Light, stand by him and help him."
Whether Bud Light has formally ended its relationship with Poirier remains unconfirmed. The company has not issued a public statement on the matter. Poirier, who holds a 30-10 career record, faces a misdemeanor hearing in the coming weeks.
