UFC 329 bonus winners: Pimblett, Green, Royval earn $100K
Paddy Pimblett walked away from UFC 329 with an extra $100,000 after submitting Benoit St. Denis in under a minute Saturday night.
The lightweight co-main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas earned Pimblett one of two Performance of the Night bonuses on a card that featured 11 finishes, Sherdog reports. King Green claimed the second performance check after surviving an early onslaught from Terrance McKinney to win with one second left in the opening round.
Royval-Kavanagh flyweight war takes Fight of the Night
Brandon Royval and Lone'er Kavanagh split Fight of the Night honors and $100,000 apiece for their back-and-forth flyweight clash. Kavanagh controlled the early rounds before Royval rallied and locked in a rear-naked choke in the third.
Green's comeback win came after he weathered both heavy strikes and a submission attempt from McKinney. The 39-year-old has now strung together four straight UFC victories.
The main event ended in disappointment when Conor McGregor suffered a knee injury seconds into his rematch with Max Holloway, handing the Hawaiian a technical win. McGregor's return lasted just 69 seconds before the injury forced a stoppage.
