Lerryan Douglas was hospitalized after suffering a fractured orbital that caused immediate vision loss in his UFC Sacramento prelim bout against Jamal Emmers.

The featherweight prospect, who entered the promotion through Dana White's Contender Series, absorbed the first loss of his UFC run when Emmers stopped him on the preliminary card. Douglas left the Golden 1 Center for medical evaluation after the stoppage.

Swanson Confirms Orbital Fracture

Coach Cub Swanson posted on social media that Douglas fractured his orbital and lost sight in the affected eye during the exchange. "He is okay and I'm glad he didn't take more damage," Swanson wrote, per MMA Mania. "We'll know more after he sees a specialist this week."

Douglas had built momentum as one of the division's rising talents before the setback. Swanson thanked supporters for messages following the injury and said Douglas will undergo further evaluation with a specialist in the coming days.

No timeline for the featherweight's return has been announced pending medical clearance.
