Ditcheva Opens As -10000 Favorite At PFL New York
Dakota Ditcheva has opened as perhaps the largest betting favorite in MMA history ahead of her return at PFL New York this Friday.
The undefeated flyweight faces Denise Kielholtz in the co-main event at UBS Arena in Belmont Park. MMA Mania reports that Ditcheva's line initially sat at -1800 when the bout was announced, with Kielholtz at +700. By fight week, the number exploded. She now sits at -10000 on multiple sportsbooks, with some outlets quoting her as high as -8000 earlier in the week.
Ditcheva Line Dwarfs Recent UFC Records
The figure surpasses Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, who closed around -4000 for his UFC debut earlier this month. Ditcheva holds a 15-0 record and has won all 10 of her PFL bouts, stopping nine opponents. The 28-year-old has not fought in a year after breaking her hand against Sumiko Inaba and then reinjuring it in camp.
Kielholtz brings a 9-5 mark and beat Antonia Silvaneide in her PFL debut earlier this year. The two were originally scheduled to meet before Ditcheva pulled out with the hand injury.
PFL New York airs Friday night, with the main card starting at 9 p.m. ET.
