Devin Haney's Potential Mega New Deal
Bill Haney has ignited speculation over his son, Devin Haney’s, next major contract move, posting on X: "New deal worth over 100 million before 30 years old? Who's your manager?"
The post has been widely interpreted as a hint toward Zuffa Boxing, the TKO-backed promotion built around Dana White that has been aggressively signing established names over the past year. Conor Benn signed a long-term deal reported at $15 million, with Richardson Hitchins and Edgar Berlanga also joining the roster. Haney could be next, and Eddie Hearn confirmed that Haney's financial expectations have grown beyond what Matchroom is in a position to offer.
Haney enters this conversation as a three-division world champion — a status he secured last November when he outpointed Brian Norman Jr. by unanimous decision to claim the WBO welterweight title. The judges scored it 117-110, 116-111, and 114-113. It was the 27-year-old's third weight class title, following his undisputed lightweight reign and his WBC super lightweight belt.
The criticism levelled at Devin — that he lacks the box office magnetism to justify top-tier pay — has persistently followed him despite the credentials. Zuffa Boxing's model lends itself to that pitch. The promotion has positioned itself as the alternative for fighters who want security and scale outside the traditional promotional structure. Haney's immediate focus was a welterweight unification bout against WBA champion Rolando 'Rolly' Romero, but talks broke down, as we wait for his next move.
