Darren Till slams UFC's current direction, can't watch Dana White
Former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till says he has lost interest in the promotion and cannot bring himself to watch Dana White interviews anymore.
Till, who fought for the welterweight belt in 2018 and last competed in the octagon in 2022, told fans he no longer gets excited for UFC cards the way he once did. "I just don't think there's that much hype around the UFC anymore," he said, per Sherdog. "I really don't... I don't get excited for fights, whereas I used to, and I don't know why that is."
Till criticizes UFC's promotion strategy
The Liverpool native attributed his waning interest to what he sees as lackluster promotion from the organization. Till suggested the UFC is not doing enough to build anticipation around its fighters and matchups compared to earlier eras.
Till has been vocal on social media about combat sports in recent months despite stepping away from active competition. His comments come as the UFC prepares for its White House event featuring Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje.
The 32-year-old has not indicated whether he plans to return to fighting or pursue opportunities outside the UFC. His current contract status with the promotion remains unclear.
