Till Blasts Jake Paul After Doumbe Fight Announced

Darren Till says Jake Paul's team left him hanging after two weeks of training camp for a Christmas Eve fight that never materialized.

Paul announced earlier this week that he will face Cedric Doumbe on December 24 in Dubai, a move that blindsided Till. The former UFC welterweight contender told Ariel Helwani that Paul's representatives initiated talks for a bout, negotiations were progressing well, and he had already begun camp with his coach when the Doumbe fight was announced without warning.

Till Calls Paul And Doumbe Fight A Farce

Till questioned the legitimacy of the matchup, noting that Doumbe has not competed in two years and has not boxed in a decade. He also pointed out the size disparity, describing Paul as a heavyweight fighting a welterweight. "I don't think anyone outside of his own household even knows who he is," Till said of Doumbe, per BJPENN.com. The Liverpool native did not mince words about Paul's team, calling the situation fraudulent and accusing them of wasting his time.

Despite the frustration, Till confirmed he remains open to fighting Paul in 2027 if the American is still interested after facing Doumbe. He made clear, however, that he will not chase the bout or beg for the opportunity.

Paul's Christmas Eve fight with Doumbe marks his return to boxing after a lengthy layoff, though the opponent selection has drawn criticism given the size and experience gap between the two fighters.
