Erosa Retires After 91-Second KO In UFC Vegas 123

Julian Erosa walked away from mixed martial arts on Saturday after knocking out Jeong Yeong Lee inside two minutes at UFC Vegas 123.

The 37-year-old had committed to retirement before the matchup was finalized, per Sherdog, which meant the result would not change his decision. Erosa weathered an early knockdown before connecting with a right hand that sent Lee to the canvas. Ground strikes ended the bout at the 1:31 mark of round one.

Decision Made Before Fight Week

Erosa told reporters he grappled with doubts about leaving the sport on a loss, but resolved those concerns by locking in his choice well ahead of fight week. "It's the fairytale ending to my career," he said afterward. The knockout let him close out a seven-year UFC stint with eight wins against seven defeats, five of those victories by stoppage.

He wanted the cage walk to feel like a regular assignment rather than a farewell ceremony, Erosa explained, treating the occasion as one more night of work before stepping away. The finish marked his second consecutive win and his third stoppage across four outings.

Erosa leaves the featherweight division on a high note after deciding months earlier that UFC Vegas 123 would be his final appearance inside the Octagon.
