Danis Pulls Out Of Perry Fight, UFC Vet Jenkins Steps In
Dillon Danis has withdrawn from his main event against Mike Perry just two days before Duel Arena 1 on Saturday in Orlando, Florida. UFC veteran Brandon Jenkins accepted the fight on roughly 48 hours' notice and will face Perry in the card's headliner, as MMA Fighting first reported.
Perry delivered the news during Thursday's pre-fight press conference. He praised Jenkins for stepping up on short notice and criticized Danis for backing out of the bout.
Jenkins Takes Opportunity on Short Notice
Jenkins most recently defeated Chris Avila by split decision at MVP MMA 1 in May and has competed across multiple promotions including BKFC, Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA, and Karate Combat. The 17-11 fighter went 0-2 during his UFC stint but is now getting a chance to headline a pay-per-view card against Perry, who stopped Nate Diaz in his return to MMA earlier this year.
No official reason for Danis' withdrawal has been released. The grappler, per BJPenn.com, has not competed in professional MMA since submitting Max Humphrey at Bellator 222 in June 2019, though he did win an exhibition last August with a 15-second submission of Warren Spencer. Danis also had fights scrapped against KSI twice in 2023 and 2025, and a title defense against Anthony Taylor canceled in December 2025 after he was not medically cleared following injuries from a UFC 322 brawl.
Perry is 15-8 as a pro and went 6-0 in BKFC with wins over Luke Rockhold, Michael Page, and Eddie Alvarez before returning to MMA. The Perry-Jenkins bout will remain an MMA fight and headline the Duel Arena 1 pay-per-view on Saturday.
