Dana White believes Wang Cong squandered her shot at UFC gold by waiting too long to turn up the heat against Natalia Silva.
Cong dropped a unanimous decision to Silva in the UFC 332 main event Saturday in Salt Lake City, falling short in her bid to claim the vacant women's flyweight title. White told reporters afterward that the Chinese contender's hesitation cost her the belt. "I think that when Wang goes back and watches the film, she's going to hate herself," he said, per BJPENN.com. "I think if she stepped on the gas a little bit earlier, it would've been a completely different fight."

Silva Extends Unbeaten UFC Run
The loss snapped Cong's four-fight winning streak and marks her first defeat since late 2024. Silva, meanwhile, stretched her winning run to 15 fights and has not tasted defeat since 2017. The new 125-pound champion has already been warned by former titleholder Valentina Shevchenko not to get comfortable — Shevchenko relinquished the strap due to injury but plans to reclaim it once cleared to compete.
How Cong responds to the setback remains an open question. Silva defends her title for the first time at a date yet to be announced.
