White On Fury-Joshua: Two Guys Have To Want To Fight

Dana White has no idea if Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will ever meet in the ring.

The Zuffa Boxing frontman addressed the long-stalled heavyweight matchup during the UFC 330 post-fight presser, per BJ Penn and MMA Mania, saying the two Britons may simply lack the desire to close the deal. "To make a fight, two guys have to want to fight," White said. "Period. End of story."

White Questions Fury and Joshua's Desire

White dismissed the usual contract and promotional wrangling as irrelevant when the purse is this big. He said the money is there for the taking if both sides genuinely want it. "There's a lot of money for grabs in this fight," the UFC boss told reporters. "Do you want to fight or do you not want to fight?"

The bout has been viewed as the biggest possible UK heavyweight clash for years, but the two camps have never aligned. White agrees with those who feel the window has already narrowed. "The fight should have happened ten years ago," he said. "Is it going to happen now? We'll see."

Both fighters recently took tune-up bouts ahead of the potential showdown. Fury stopped Mariusz Wach in the seventh round in Pattaya, while Joshua recovered from two knockdowns to knock out Kristian Prenga in the second.
