Cyborg Offers To Save UFC 332 With Nunes Rematch

Cris Cyborg has offered to step in and headline UFC 332 against Amanda Nunes after the Salt Lake City card lost its rumored main event.

The former UFC featherweight champion defeated Ketlen Vieira at PFL Tampa two weeks ago in what appeared to be her final fight under the Professional Fighters League banner. While the 41-year-old hinted at retirement following that performance, she posted Tuesday on social media calling out Nunes for a rematch. "Amanda Nunes. Tired of waiting for Kayla Harrison?" Cyborg wrote, per BJPenn.com. "Feel like saving a UFC event?"

UFC 332 Main Event Still Unannounced

The April card was reportedly set to be headlined by women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko against Natalia Silva before Shevchenko suffered an injury that scuttled the booking. With UFC 332 just weeks away and no main event locked in, Cyborg appears willing to postpone her retirement plans for a legacy fight.

Cyborg and Nunes first met at UFC 232 in December 2018, when Nunes stopped Cyborg in 51 seconds to claim the featherweight title. The UFC shuttered its women's featherweight division after Nunes retired at UFC 289, though the promotion could revive it for one night if both legends agree to terms.

Nunes was scheduled to return at UFC 324 against Kayla Harrison before Harrison withdrew from that bout. As of this writing, Nunes has not responded to Cyborg's callout. UFC 332 takes place April 26 in Salt Lake City.
