Duncan Books First UFC Main Event vs. Top 5 Allen

Christian Leroy Duncan will fight in his first UFC main event when he faces No. 5-ranked middleweight Brendan Allen at UFC Vegas 122 on October 10, the UFC announced Tuesday.

Duncan arrives on a five-fight winning streak, most recently beating Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision in July. The UK standout has developed into a contender after a slow start to his UFC tenure, and the Cannonier victory moved him into title contention at 185 pounds. Allen represents the toughest test of his career to date and a potential eliminator bout for a shot at champion Sean Strickland.

Allen Chasing Title Shot After Three Straight Wins

Allen has won three consecutive fights since dropping back-to-back losses to Anthony Hernandez and Nassourdine Imavov. The former Dana White's Contender Series standout returned to the win column with recent victories over Edmen Shahbazyan and Reinier de Ridder. A fourth straight win over a surging contender like Duncan would push Allen into serious title consideration at middleweight.

The Vegas card also features a strawweight bout between Loopy Godinez and Ketlen Souza. Malcolm Wellmaker, Jai Herbert, and Julius Walker round out the lineup at the UFC Apex.

UFC Vegas 122 airs October 10 from the Apex in Las Vegas.
