Christian Leroy Duncan will fight in his first UFC main event when he faces No. 5-ranked middleweight Brendan Allen at UFC Vegas 122 on October 10, the UFC announced Tuesday.

Duncan arrives on a five-fight winning streak, most recently beating Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision in July. The UK standout has developed into a contender after a slow start to his UFC tenure, and the Cannonier victory moved him into title contention at 185 pounds. Allen represents the toughest test of his career to date and a potential eliminator bout for a shot at champion Sean Strickland.

Allen Chasing Title Shot After Three Straight Wins

Allen has won three consecutive fights since dropping back-to-back losses to Anthony Hernandez and Nassourdine Imavov. The former Dana White's Contender Series standout returned to the win column with recent victories over Edmen Shahbazyan and Reinier de Ridder. A fourth straight win over a surging contender like Duncan would push Allen into serious title consideration at middleweight.
