Cormier Urges Usman Nurmagomedov To Sign With UFC
Daniel Cormier used the UFC 330 aftermath to make his pitch to Usman Nurmagomedov directly — telling the PFL lightweight champion it is time to stop wasting time and come to the UFC.
Nurmagomedov was ringside in Philadelphia to watch his close friend and training partner Islam Makhachev successfully defend the welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry. Cormier caught up with the Makhachev-Nurmagomedov camp after the fight and made his case in person.
"Hey, when are you coming? When are you coming here? t's now time to stop wasting time. It's now about legacy,” Cormier
Nurmagomedov completed his PFL contract in July with a finish of Archie Colgan, entering free agency as one of the most coveted unsigned fighters in MMA. The PFL's recent merger with Most Valuable Promotions makes re-signing a more attractive proposition than it once was — but the UFC remains the sport's biggest stage, and Khabib Nurmagomedov, his cousin and coach, has already declared Usman the best lightweight in the world outside of the promotion.
