Conor Benn gained 32 pounds in the 12 hours after making the welterweight limit for his WBC title fight with Ryan Garcia.

Both fighters stepped on the scales Friday and hit the 147-pound mark without issue, according to the BBC, despite questions about whether either man could make weight. Benn had described the cut earlier this week as dragging him to "the pits of hell."

By Saturday morning, Benn had ballooned back up to 179 pounds — a swing that underscores the severity of the water and food restriction required to reach welterweight. The British fighter has campaigned primarily at 154 pounds in recent years, making the drop to 147 a significant physical ordeal.

Garcia, who missed weight badly for his last fight against Devin Haney, came in comfortably this time. Nigel Benn, Conor's father and trainer, told BBC Sport that Garcia is "a one-dimensional fighter" ahead of the bout.
