Claressa Shields Vs. Lani Daniels Open Workout – ‘Go Through Hell To Beat Me'

Claressa Shields and Lani Daniels held an open workout ahead of their July 26 undisputed heavyweight clash.

Shields will defend her Undisputed Heavyweight Title, having secured it with a win against Danielle Perkins in her last bout. The victory crowned her as an undisputed champion in a third weight class, having already done so at 154 and 160 pounds. Lani Daniels, meanwhile, arrives on a seven-fight win streak. While her momentum is undeniable, she faces her toughest test yet in Shields. A commanding performance from Shields could lead to an even bigger stage—a potential $15 million blockbuster against Laila Ali, a fight she’s openly campaigning for. Both fighters looked focused and composed at the weigh-in, with Daniels embracing the underdog role and Shields exuding confidence.

"I am happy. I get to fight on Saturday in front of thousands of people. I am sharing the card with Tony Harrison. What more can I ask for? For some reason this fight seems bigger than some of my past ones. I am a bigger and better athlete than I have ever been. I get up for all of my opponents because they want what I’ve got. Lani Daniels is very humble, but she wants the car, the chains, and the recognition.

"Regardless of how friendly and nice she is, if she could beat me down and knock me out, she would do it. My only goal is to go in there on Saturday night and show Lani Daniels that if she wants it, she will have to go through hell to beat me. She is an alright boxer, but I am greater than great. I have 16 wins, three knockouts, and zero losses, but every win that I have that wasn’t a knockout was a unanimous decision. I don’t have close fights," Shields

"I’m grateful and pleased to be here. I love the challenge. I am soaking up all of this experience. I worked hard to be here and I am going to enjoy it. So many people wish they were me," Daniels
