Rafael Fiziev rips UFC's Meta AI rankings as 'elephant sh*t'
Rafael Fiziev knocked out Manuel Torres in the UFC Baku main event Saturday, then torched the promotion's new Meta AI ranking structure.
Fiziev, who entered the card outside the lightweight top 15 under the algorithm-driven system, told reporters the rankings were "elephant shit" at the post-fight press conference, according to MMA Fighting. The veteran lightweight improved to 2-3 in his last five after the stoppage at National Gymnastics Arena.
Fiziev downplays title talk despite Gaethje history
When asked if the knockout puts him in title contention, Fiziev dismissed the notion despite two prior losses to current champion Justin Gaethje. "I'm far away from the champion, bro," he said. "I don't like talking about the miracle stuff." Both Gaethje fights were competitive decisions.
Fiziev added that he has "a name" in the division — "Everybody knows that I fight with the champion twice" — and suggested a BMF title run might make more sense than chasing Gaethje again.
The Kazakh fighter is expected to crack the new Meta rankings when they update later this week.
