Charles Johnson vs. Jose Ochoa set for UFC 330 in Philadelphia
Flyweight Charles Johnson will face Jose Ochoa at UFC 330 on Aug. 15 in Philadelphia, Sherdog reports. The bout joins a numbered card headlined by Islam Makhachev's welterweight title defense against Ian Garry at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Johnson announced the booking on Instagram. The 19-9 veteran has fought three times already this year, alternating wins and losses across his last six outings. He owns stoppage wins over Lone'er Kavanagh and current champion Joshua Van, but has dropped decisions to Asu Almabayev, Alex Perez, and Ramazonbek Temirov over the same stretch.
Ochoa looks to build momentum at 125 pounds
Ochoa enters off a unanimous decision win over Clayton Carpenter in May. The 25-year-old Peruvian prospect stands 2-2 since joining the UFC and will aim to use Johnson's activity as a springboard in the flyweight rankings.
A women's strawweight title fight between Mackenzie Dern and Gillian Robertson serves as the co-main event. The full card for UFC 330 in Philadelphia airs Aug. 15.
