Cejudo Confirms Boxing Debut Against Euphoria Actor
Former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo will make his professional boxing debut Sept. 26 against Javon Walton, the actor known for his role on HBO's Euphoria.
ESPN reports the matchup pits the retired two-division MMA titleholder against a dual-track prospect who splits time between Hollywood and the ring. Walton fights under the nickname "Wanna" and holds a pro boxing record.
Cejudo's Move To Boxing After UFC Retirement
Cejudo, who retired from MMA competition in 2023, previously held gold at 125 and 135 pounds in the UFC. The 37-year-old Olympic wrestling gold medalist has not competed in combat sports since his last octagon appearance.
Walton, who played the drug dealer Ashtray on Euphoria, began boxing as a youth and turned pro while pursuing his acting career. The September date marks Cejudo's first sanctioned boxing match as a professional.
The bout is scheduled for late September, though the venue and card details have not been disclosed.
