Calvin Olson In ICU After Motorcycle Crash

Amateur mixed martial artist Calvin Olson is in intensive care following a motorcycle accident that left him with a brain injury, according to a GoFundMe campaign.

The fundraiser, set up by Ivan Silva, states that Olson is being monitored in the ICU as he faces what could be an extended recovery period, Sherdog reports. The accident occurred shortly after Olson's most recent fight, a second-round technical knockout victory over Nathaniel Esquibel at Guerrilla Fighting Championship 2.

Fundraiser Seeks Support For Medical Costs

The campaign describes Olson as facing significant physical, emotional and financial obstacles ahead. Donations are being collected to offset medical expenses, rehabilitation services and daily living costs during his recovery.

"No young man should have to face a battle like this without the support of those around him," the fundraiser reads.

The organizer has called on friends, family, fellow riders and the broader MMA community to contribute to Olson's care as he begins treatment for his injuries.
