Cain Velasquez In Talks To Join RAF

Cain Velasquez, 44, could soon compete in Real American Freestyle.

His coach Javier Mendez says Velasquez is “in discussions” to join the freestyle wrestling promotion “soon.” Velasquez hasn’t fought in MMA since Francis Ngannou stopped him in 26 seconds in February 2019, and he retired later that year. He was released on parole in February after serving 10 months for the attempted murder of a man accused of molesting his son.

RAF has drawn several former UFC fighters as an alternative place to compete. Its next event is Friday in Las Vegas, headlined by Arman Tsarukyan vs. Dillon Danis.
