Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs has challenged Georges St-Pierre to a freestyle wrestling match, naming the retired UFC champion as his number one choice for a Real American Freestyle bout.

Burroughs floated the idea during an appearance on Ariel Helwani's show last weekend, days after his RAF win over Sean Brady on Aug. 22. When Helwani brought up the Canadian's name, Burroughs responded immediately. "Yeah, Georges, if you're out there, I would love to compete against you," he said, per Sherdog. "I'd love to wrestle you. I honor you. I honor your legacy. And I don't want to embarrass you. I don't want to humiliate you. I just would love to share the stage with you. And so, he's No. 1. He's at the very top of my list."

The wrestler then suggested a specific date and venue for the matchup. "Georges, if you're out there and are watching this show, make it happen. Las Vegas, Oct. 3," he added, referencing the scheduled RAF 14 card.

St-Pierre has not competed professionally since submitting Michael Bisping for the UFC middleweight title in 2017. He formally retired from MMA two years later and entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2020.

Burroughs is scheduled to face Magomed Kurbanaliev at RAF Moscow on Sept. 5.
