Brook Confirms Comeback

Kell Brook has confirmed he is coming out of retirement, with a return to the ring planned for later this year — more than four and a half years after the night he stopped Amir Khan and walked away from the sport.

"I'm coming back. It'll happen this year, it's about done. We will be giving the fans another massive fight. I'll return at middleweight or super-middleweight, around them divisions,” Brook

Brook has been heavily linked with a fight against Chris Eubank Jr., a matchup that would generate considerable interest on the domestic scene and give both men a high-profile platform for what could be the final chapter of their respective careers.

The Sheffield man's story in boxing is one of genuine highs and brutal lows. At his best, he was one of the finest welterweights in the world. He claimed the IBF title in 2014 with a majority decision over Shawn Porter. He then stepped up to challenge Gennadiy Golovkin for the unified middleweight championship — a fight that was widely admired for its ambition and ended in a fifth-round knockout. Two more knockout defeats followed, against Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford, as the physical wear of fighting elite opposition at two weight classes began to take its toll.

But Brook refused to let that be his ending. He came back in 2022 and delivered one of the most satisfying conclusions British boxing has seen in years — a sixth-round stoppage of long-time rival Amir Khan that sent him into retirement on his own terms, in front of a packed Manchester Arena.

Now, apparently, the terms have changed. Brook is not done yet — and if the Eubank fight comes together, the fans he promised another massive fight to will not be disappointed.
