Allen Taps Gasanov With Heel Hook At ACBJJ 22
UFC middleweight Brendan Allen defended his ACBJJ All-Stars title with a heel hook finish over Magomedrasul Gasanov at ACBJJ 22 in Istanbul.
Allen locked in the leg attack just before the five-minute mark of the grappling match at Ora Arena, forcing the tap from Gasanov in what Sherdog described as an evenly matched contest. The submission extended Allen's run in the All-Stars format after he captured the belt with a first-round finish over Ramazan Kuramagomedov in July.
Allen Riding Three-Fight UFC Win Streak
The finish came during a hot stretch for Allen inside the octagon. The 28-year-old has won three straight UFC fights with two bonus checks, stopping Marvin Vettori, Reinier de Ridder and Edmen Shahbazyan in succession.
Gasanov signed with the UFC earlier this year and was slated to debut in Abu Dhabi last month. The 23-2 middleweight withdrew from that booking for undisclosed reasons and has yet to compete under the promotion.
Allen has no fight announced. Gasanov's UFC debut remains unscheduled.
