Current Boxing Champions Across All Weight Divisions
The four major sanctioning bodies in professional boxing — the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO — recognize champions across 17 weight divisions, from minimumweight to heavyweight. Each organization crowns its own titleholder, meaning multiple fighters can claim championship status in the same weight class at any given time.
ESPN maintains an updated list of all current champions, tracking the belts as they change hands through the sport's constant churn of title fights. The roster includes undisputed champions who hold all four major belts, unified champions with two or three straps, and single-belt titleholders.
How the Major Sanctioning Bodies Rank Champions
The WBC, founded in 1963, uses a franchise champion designation for select fighters. The WBA, oldest of the four, often recognizes both a super champion and a regular champion in the same division. The IBF and WBO each maintain a single recognized champion per weight class, though interim and mandatory challenger disputes occasionally create parallel titleholders.
Undisputed status — holding all four belts simultaneously — remains rare. Recent years have seen undisputed reigns by Oleksandr Usyk at cruiserweight and heavyweight, Terence Crawford at welterweight and lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light welterweight, and Katie Taylor at lightweight. Most divisions feature multiple champions, with unification bouts serving as the sport's marquee matchups.
