Bisping Predicts Gaethje's Next UFC Opponent

Former UFC champion Michael Bisping expects Justin Gaethje to defend his lightweight title against Arman Tsarukyan before the end of 2026.

Gaethje claimed the 155-pound strap with a stoppage win over Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250 earlier this year, according to BJPenn.com. The champion has taken time off since, and several names have circulated as potential challengers — including a Topuria rematch, Paddy Pimblett, or rising contender Arman Tsarukyan.

Bisping On Gaethje Versus Tsarukyan

Speaking on his podcast, Bisping said he believes Tsarukyan has earned his shot. "Arman Tsarukyan is now undeniable," Bisping said, per Bloody Elbow. He added that he expects Pimblett to face Topuria in a separate bout, clearing the path for Gaethje to meet Tsarukyan.

Bisping acknowledged uncertainty around Gaethje's immediate plans but expressed confidence a fight will materialize. "I've got a pretty good feeling that within the next couple of months or certainly by the end of the year, we will get an announcement that Justin Gaethje will be fighting Arman Tsarukyan for the undisputed lightweight championship of the world," he said.

Gaethje has not publicly committed to a defense date. The UFC has not announced his next opponent.
