Benn First To Scale For Garcia Title Fight

Conor Benn stepped onto the scale ahead of champion Ryan Garcia at Friday's weigh-ins in Las Vegas.

Benn registered 146 pounds for Saturday's WBC welterweight title fight at T-Mobile Arena, according to MMA Fighting. Garcia followed later in the session, making weight at 145.5 pounds for his first title defense since capturing the belt from Mario Barrios in February.

The challenger arrives on a two-fight winning streak following victories over Regis Prograis and Chris Eubank Jr. Garcia enters the bout 25-2 with one no-contest, while Benn carries a 25-1 record into his first crack at a world championship.

In the co-main event, Jai Opetaia weighed 199 pounds for his cruiserweight title defense against Noel Mikaelian, who came in at 200 pounds. Opetaia claimed the Zuffa and Ring magazine belts by outpointing Brandon Glanton in March and brings a perfect 30-0 record against Mikaelian's 28-3 ledger.
