Garcia Makes Weight For Benn Showdown

Ryan Garcia weighed 145.5 pounds Friday in Las Vegas, comfortably under the 147-pound limit for his WBC welterweight title defense against Conor Benn on Saturday night.

Benn came in at 146 pounds at the official weigh-ins, per MMA Fighting and MMA Mania. Both fighters cleared the contracted weight for the main event at T-Mobile Arena, which streams live on Paramount+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Opetaia-Mikaelian Cruiserweight Unification Set

In the co-main event, Jai Opetaia weighed 199 pounds for his cruiserweight title unification bout against WBC champion Noel Mikaelian, who hit 200 pounds on the dot. Opetaia holds the Zuffa Boxing and Ring magazine belts at 200 pounds.

Garcia enters the bout 2-2 with one no-contest over his past five outings. Benn has won four of his last five fights. Ceremonial weigh-ins are scheduled for 8 p.m. ET Friday, with the fight card itself going live Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount+.

The undercard features Jose Ramirez against Alexis Rocha at welterweight, Mark Magsayo versus Andres Cortes at featherweight, and heavyweight Raphael Akpejiori taking on Damazion Vanhouter. Garcia's brother Sean also fights on the card, making 134 pounds for his bout with Abraham Morales.
