MMA Mania reports that the bout takes place at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, with the matchup first surfaced by social media user themmamatchmaker. NCAA Champion Eyes Historic UFC-Olympics Double
The 22-year-old capped her college wrestling career with an NCAA national title at 145 pounds earlier this year. UFC signed her as the promotion's first NIL ambassador in 2023 while she competed collegiately, and she has stayed active in Brazilian jiu-jitsu between MMA bouts. Mir has said she wants to become the first active UFC fighter to compete in the Olympics simultaneously, targeting the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.
Apodaca enters the bout on a three-fight streak, most recently taking a unanimous decision over Devon McDonald at Fury FC 122 on July 24. She holds a 3-1 record but has yet to record a stoppage win as a professional.
Season 10 of Contender Series begins Aug. 11 on Paramount+, with Mir's bout scheduled for the third week of the series.
