Aspen Ladd Books Former Title Challenger For BKB 58 Debut
Former UFC contender Aspen Ladd will face ex-welterweight title challenger Bianca Daimoni in a lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super lightweight bout at BKB 58 on Aug. 29 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, MMA Mania reports.
Ladd, who signed a multi-fight deal with BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing earlier this year, already has one bareknuckle finish on her record after she stopped Shyanne Bitliff at BKFC 84 last fall. The 31-year-old reached No. 2 in the UFC bantamweight rankings during a run that included bouts against current champion Kayla Harrison and former titleholders Raquel Pennington and Germaine de Randamie.
What Ladd's BKB Move Means For Her Career
"I can't wait to make my debut in the Trigon and put on a show for the fans in Miami," Ladd said in the announcement, per MMA Mania. "Bianca's tough and I know she's coming to fight, but that's exactly what I signed up for. BKB gives me the chance to compete with everything on the line, no gloves, no hiding, and I'm ready to show everyone what I can do."
BKB CEO David Tetreault said Ladd has never taken a backward step against world-class competition across multiple promotions. Daimoni previously challenged for a welterweight strap in the BKB promotion.
The card is topped by undefeated heavyweight champion Gustavo Trujillo, who defends his belt against Mark O'Neil. Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa also makes his bareknuckle debut on the same show against Yesner Talavera.
