Anthony Joshua weighs 251 pounds ahead of Prenga tune-up
Anthony Joshua weighed 251 pounds at Friday's official ceremony for his heavyweight return against Kristian Prenga, setting up a Saturday bout in Jeddah that could pave the way for a domestic showdown with Tyson Fury later this year.
Prenga came in at 261.4 pounds for the scheduled contest at Jeddah Superdome, according to Sherdog. The Albanian veteran enters the biggest opportunity of his professional run after a February win over Joe Jones, looking to derail Joshua's momentum and scuttle any plans for an all-British blockbuster.
Joshua returns after Paul stoppage with Fury clash looming
Joshua has not fought since stopping Jake Paul in December 2025. The former unified champion is using the Prenga assignment as a tune-up before a proposed meeting with Fury, a fight that has circulated in heavyweight circles for years but never materialised.
The card streams on DAZN pay-per-view and features middleweight contender Hamzah Sheeraz against Simon Zachenhuber on the undercard. Sheeraz weighed 167.8 pounds; Zachenhuber came in at 166.6.
Joshua and Fury have yet to finalise terms for a potential autumn clash, but a convincing performance Saturday would keep the former two-belt holder in position for the domestic superfight. The bout is scheduled for July 25 in Saudi Arabia.
