Pereira's Sister Confirmed For DWCS Against Former One Champ

Alex Pereira's sister Aline is headed to Dana White's Contender Series against a former One Championship titleholder, according to Brazilian journalist Leo Guimaraes.

Aline Pereira will meet Smilla Sundell in a bantamweight bout on the final DWCS card of Season 10 on Oct. 13 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Guimaraes first reported. Sherdog confirmed the matchup. A contract could put the 35-year-old Brazilian alongside her older brother, the former two-division UFC champion, on the roster.

Pereira's Path To DWCS

Pereira carries a 3-2 MMA record after stopping Jade Masson-Wong at Most Valuable Promotions' first mixed martial arts show. She also owns a 6-2 kickboxing ledger and went undefeated across three Karate Combat appearances. Sundell brings two pro MMA wins under the Tuff-N-Uff banner, both by technical knockout, to pair with her One Championship credentials. The 21-year-old Swede captured and defended the muay thai strawweight title before transitioning to cage fighting.

The October date gives Pereira seven weeks to prepare for a fight that would make her the second member of her family to earn UFC consideration this fall.
