Alex Pereira outweighs Ciryl Gane at UFC White House weigh-ins
Alex Pereira stepped on the scale at 251 pounds Friday for his first heavyweight appearance, three pounds heavier than opponent Ciryl Gane ahead of their interim title clash at UFC White House.
The former two-division champion weighed in well above the 205-pound limit he held at light heavyweight and the 185-pound mark from his middleweight days, according to MMA Fighting. Gane, a perennial heavyweight contender, came in at 248 pounds. Pereira can become the first fighter to capture UFC belts in three divisions with a win over the Frenchman.
Topuria and Gaethje make championship weight
Headliners Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje both hit 155 pounds for Sunday's lightweight unification bout at the historic Washington event. All 14 fighters made weight without issue, including former bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley at 135.5 pounds for his potential number one contender matchup against Aiemann Zahabi.
The other heavyweight pairing saw an even larger gap as Derrick Lewis maxed out near the division limit at 265 pounds, a full 34 pounds heavier than undefeated Josh Hokit at 231. Diego Lopes made a second trip to the scale after successfully weighing in at 146 pounds for his featherweight bout against Steve Garcia, returning at 154 pounds as a potential replacement for the main event.
UFC White House airs Sunday on Paramount Plus with the main card starting at 8 p.m. ET.
