Mike Perry Wants Conor McGregor In BKFC

Mike Perry is targeting a bareknuckle fight with Conor McGregor.

Perry is regarded as the face of BKFC. He left the UFC in 2021 after losing to Daniel Rodriguez. That was his second successive loss, taking his record to four losses out of his last five UFC bouts. Since joining BKFC, Perry has rejuvenated his career. He is undefeated with a 5-0 record, winning his last three fights by stoppages.

He is now eying a fight with McGregor, following the Irishman’s stake in BKFC. The Notorious confirmed the purchase during BKFC KnuckleMania 4  on April 27. He will be a part owner while Triller remains the major shareholder. McGregor’s products have previously sponsored BKFC events: his Proper Twelve and Forged Irish Stout. Following Perry’s win over Luke Rockhold at BKFC 41 in April 2023, he faced off with McGregor. Now, Perry wants to take things to the cage.

Perry On McGregor

“Maybe a Conor fight [could happen]. The only thing about the Conor fight that could be a possibility is just time. Because he still has two [fights] on his UFC contract. After he fights Michael Chandler, he’ll have one, and then the UFC’s coming to the table, probably going to attempt to lock him down on deals and probably the best deals you can put together, I don’t know. If he wanted to do it, that would be his choice. That is why he still fights because he wants to. I can respect that all day. A fight would be very fun considering we both fought Eddie Alvarez and he pieced him up real clean,” Perry said

That depends on McGregor’s return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29. McGregor has his first fight since losing to Dustin Poirier in 2021 at UFC 264. That was his third loss in four UFC bouts, as he suffered a broken leg. It remains to be seen whether he is the same fighter. But even if McGregor leaves the UFC, there are arguably more lucrative fights than Perry.

He has been linked with numerous boxing bouts. His boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather earned him a reported $100 million. He has been mentioned alongside Manny Pacquiao and Jake Paul in possible boxing bouts. There is also the potential to continue in the UFC, which is a bigger brand than BKFC. But if Perry cannot secure the McGregor fight, he is looking to face the best possible names.

Perry’s Future

“I was looking at Thiago like he had two [fights], he had the bare-knuckle world title. He had two bare-knuckle matches and he’s proven very tough in combat sports throughout the years. I guess I trained like I thought he might be ready to put it on me, and then the results speak for themselves.

“Recently, on my podcast — I can’t wait for the episode to come out — I called lots of people. I called out, just to name a couple — I called out ‘Rampage’ Jackson, I called out Jon Jones, I called out Jean-Claude Van Damme. I’m calling them all out. If they want to practice fight first, go ahead, get you a practice fight or two. Because I’m taking off over here,” Perry stated
