Mike Perry Launches Dirty Boxing Championship

Mike Perry is planning for life after his combat sports career, having launched his promotional company, Dirty Boxing Championship.

Perry is currently one of the most popular combat sports fighters around. He has reinvented his brand since his UFC departure in 2021. He lost four out of his last five UFC fights, raising questions over whether he was the same fighter. Perry would then sign with BKFC, and the rest would be history. He is undefeated with a 5-0 record. He also secured a boxing super crossover fight with Jake Paul, earning him a large purse.

Perry’s Venture

There is also potential to run things back with Paul in BKFC or MMA. In the meantime, Perry is looking ahead to his future after fighting. He confirmed his promotional company with his team, which consists of ex-Karate Combat executive Adam Kovacs and Josh McLean (Kanpai Media). The promotion will have a mixture of fighting rules with a combination of striking. Fighters will use five-ounce gloves, while there will be limits on how much fighters can utilize ground-and-pound.

“This promotion has been in the works for over a year, and we started this because of my success in bare-knuckle. I feel there that are many great fighters and athletes out there that would like to compete in something like this but don’t exactly want to compete in bare-knuckle and take the gloves off. There are a couple names that come to mind,” Perry said

“I think this rule set is going to be the most exciting thing for the casual fan base that’s been put together,” McLean said

Perry In BKFC

Perry will also benefit from Conor McGregor’s introduction to BKFC. The Irishman became a part-owner in the franchise, giving the organization a massive boost. McGregor is one of the most iconic fighters around. The two-weight UFC champion is injured after withdrawing from his Michael Chandler fight at UFC 303. However, he showed that the popularity was there, with the UFC gate setting a new record of over $20 million. McGregor put his support behind Perry when he took on Jake Paul. While Perry suffered a loss, McGregor clarified that he wanted to boost BKFC to the next level. Perry is seen as the face of the franchise, which can only benefit him.

“For me, I’ve got a bit of business left with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, two fights left on my contract. But for sure we have three lightweights up here and I have my eye on all of this. I’m not here up here just as a knower, player-manager I’d title myself on this. That’s me. I am coming to the end of my contract. I have two fights left. This is a very, very exciting organization here. How could you not?

“How could you not look to become a two-sport world champion in something as wild as a bareknuckle fighting organization. We’ve got the money, too. We’ve got the dough. This is big payouts here, also – big pay, big shows, big news, and a coveted world title in a wild and dangerous game. For any real fighter out there, that’s all you want to hear. Money, power, respect – Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has it all,” McGregor said
