Mayer Beats Spencer To Become A Three-Weight Champ

Mikaela Mayer beat Mary Spencer via a unanimous decision, 100-90 98-92 98-92, to become the WBA, WBO and WBC Junior Middleweight Champ, thus making her a three-weight champion.
Spencer was elevated to the full WBA Champion once she beat Naomi Mannes for the interim title, as the full champion Terri Harper vacated. She entered into the bout with a win over over Ogleidis Suarez in her first defense. The vacant WBO and WBC titles were also on the line, giving Spencer the chance to unify.
As for Mayer, she knew a win made her a three-weight world champion. She had already won belts at 130 and 147 pounds. She beat Sandy Ryan in her last fight to retain her WBO Welterweight Title. With the win, Mayer may drop down to 147 to finally get the undisputed fight with Lauren Price.
