Knockout Artist Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai Needs to Right Ship at ONE Fight Night 69

Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai has a menacing nickname. When he entered ONE Championship, the “Left Meteorite” was expected to carry plenty of power in his left hand. While he had produced a pair of knockout victories, five of his 11 fights in the organization have gone the distance.

But even more disappointing for Kulabdam has been his inability to win consistently. He has produced a 7-4 record thus far but would like to do more to climb into the Muay Thai bantamweight title picture. Online boxing news shows that Kulabdam has the pedigree to improve quickly with the right string of performances.

Kulabdam has two Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai world championships under his belt and hopes to get back on the path to a belt with a win over Nabil Anane. Anane has risen quickly through the Muay Thai world.

Anane will be coming off a disappointing loss in his ONE debut. However, Anane stepped directly into the fire when he joined the promotion. Anane, a former two-division WBC Muay Thai World Champion, took on Superlek Kiatmoo9 in June 2023.

Anane is only 20 years old but already has three fights under his belt at ONE. In his past two fights, Anane has collected victories. This is an important fight for both men, hoping to stand out in a crowd of talented fighters. This should be a solid main event for a fight night with many eager fighters attempting to break through.

This is a good opportunity for ONE Championship to bring some extra eyeballs to the product. With many American fight organizations taking a breather for the Fourth of July holiday this weekend, ONE won’t have to worry about competing with the UFC or PFL for an audience.

Maisangkum Searches for Sixth Straight Win

Maisangkum Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang has been one of the most successful fighters since ONE Championship started having Friday night fights. If this run of success continues, Maisangkum hopes to earn one of the coveted $100,000 contracts that ONE signs fighters to. MMAfighting latest news shows his latest run of results has been strong.

Maisangkum has gone 5-0 during his appearances and has collected three knockouts during that string of fights. The next step in his journey will be a fight against Petsansuk ChotBangsaen. Petsansuk won his first fight in ONE last August when he beat Kohtao Petsomnuk at ONE Friday Night Fights 28.

This is an exciting opportunity for Petsansuk. If he’s able to stop Maisangkum’s winning streak, it would provide a good boost for his career.

Pongsiri, Soe Lin Oo Look to Settle Their Differences

Fights that end in a draw seldom leave anyone feeling good about themselves. Pongsiri PK Saenchai is hoping for an opportunity to settle an old score. Back in 2020, Pongsiri fought to a draw with Soe Lin Oo.

Lin Oo has had an outstanding 2024 and comes into this fight with much momentum. After making his debut in ONE back in February, Lin Oo has collected two straight knockout victories. Pongsiri, however, has been trending in the wrong direction.

In 2023, Pongsiri won his first three fights and appeared to be on his way up the ranks. However, things turned around last August and September. Pongsiri dropped two fights by decision to see his momentum halted in his tracks.

Osmananov Puts His Reputation on the Line

Elbrus Osmanov will look to win over some Muay Thai fans when he puts his 10-0 record on the line as the only kickboxing fan of the night. Osmanov has shown that anyone wanting to beat him must have a varied arsenal. Osmanov debuted in ONE with a knockout win over Paedsanlek PK Saenchai in February 2023.

However, in Osmanov’s last three fights, he has collected three decision wins. Miao Aoqi will look to put an end to Osmanov’s winning streak. He debuted in ONE a month ago with a second-round knockout of Shingo Shibata. He’s hoping for a quick turnaround before his next fight.

Nontachai Jitmuangnon Hopes to Make a Splash

The co-main event will feature two fighters who are new to ONE. Nontachai Jitmuagnong will have a fresh challenger in fellow debutant Alessio Malatesta in their ONE debut. This should be an all-action affair.

Both fighters are looking forward to the 150-pound catchweight fight. They hope for the ideal start to their careers. Winning this fight in a knockout could help each fighter quickly build a fanbase.

Don’t Sleep on Kholmirzaev

People who love mixed martial arts should be geared up to see Avazbek Kholmirzaev have another fight in the ring. Anyone looking at the latest MMA updates should see that Kholmirzaev has collected five straight victories, all combined by way of finish.

What makes Kholmirzaev impressive is the variety he can employ against his opponents. During his last fight, he won with a spinning back kick followed by ground and pound. He submitted his opponent with a guillotine choke in the fight before that.

Kholmirzaev will defend his 2-0 record in ONE and 8-1 record overall against undefeated fighter Changy Kara-Ool. Kara-Ool has also found that he likes life in ONE Championship. He has won his first two fights in the organization, both by stoppage.

Kara-Ool has only gone to the scorecards once. This fight at the bottom of the card should be fun and could spark the event.

Here’s a look at the rest of the fights on the card not mentioned above:

  • Muay Thai (118-pound catchweight), Sunday Boomdeksean vs Chusap Sor Salacheep
  • Muay Thai (140-pound catchweight), Buakhiao Por Paoin vs Raksiam Sor Boonmeerit
  • Muay Thai (120-pound catchweight), Mungkorn Boomdeksean vs Kaenlek Sor Chokmeechai
  • Muay Thai (122-pound catchweight), BM Fairtext vs Ikko Ota
  • Muay Thai (atomweight), Celest Hansen vs Masami
  • MMA (featherweight), Jung Jun Hee vs Katsuaki Aoyagi
