Jonas And Price Make Weight – ‘It’s A 50/50 Fight’

Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price made weight ahead of their unification on March 7.
Jonas puts her IBF and WBC Welterweight Title on the line. She unified the division in her last fight, as she overcame Ivana Habazin to add the WBC belt to her collection. Price also put on a good performance, as she boxed on the same card. She secured a win over Bexcy Mateus to keep her WBA, IBO and Ring Magazine Belts. The winner could end up facing Mikaela Mayer for the Undisputed Welterweight Title, as she has the final missing piece in the form of the WBO belt. Jonas hit the scales at 146.3 pounds, while Price weighed 145 pounds.
Pre-Fight Perception
“It’s a 50/50 fight. Both have a gameplan and it will go down to who can get off to the best start and execute it. I really think it’s such a close fight. We know through history that youth can beat experience and experience can beat youth. I’m sitting on the fence,” Ricky Hatton (former world champion)
“It will be a great, exciting fight and I think Jonas will get the win with her strength and resilience towards the end of the fight. Price is a really good boxer but Jonas has shown she can get through fights and answer questions,” Chloe Watson (flyweight fighter)
“I predict Jonas will win on points. People are underestimating her because of her age but she is so experienced, a southpaw, tricky in the ring and very focused,” Jasmina Zapotoczna (flyweight fighter)
“I’m going for Price on points. She is the younger, fresher fighter and I think her speed will cause Jonas problems. I do think Jonas is a strong, tough fighter and I cannot see her getting stopped,” Hannah Rankin (former world champion)
