Jake Paul And Andre August's Pre-Fight Presser

The pre-fight presser for Jake Paul vs Andre August took place as both boxers prepare for their cruiserweight clash on December 15th, 2023.

The eight-round fight will feature Paul’s second bout against a pro boxer. His first defeat came against Tommy Fury, the first pro boxer Paul had faced, in a split-decision defeat. Despite coming out second best, Paul did show some heart as he dropped Fury with a jab. A win for Paul takes him one step closer to facing the biggest names in boxing.

His opponent, August, is not the biggest name. Before his return to the ring in August, where he beat Brandon Martin, the boxer had been out of the sport for four years. His professional record stands at 10-1-1. A win would be life-changing, giving him a lucrative payday with a rematch and a step to potentially fighting other boxers in the influencer scene.

Paul’s Pre-Presser Comments

“This is me acting like a boxing prospect. It’s me building my experience in the ring, taking challenges, and staying sharp in camp. Working, working, working. This is the time I need to be able to get to that level of being the best in the world. That’s where I’m going to be and that’s where I have my mind set on.

“I think the path that I’m on now tees me up in the future to fight Canelo,” Paul said. “It’s even just showing him that I can go 10 or 12 rounds with you, [that] I’ve done that with real, legitimate pro boxers and beat them. So when I beat these guys in the year or two to come, and continue to raise the level of opposition, I think me vs. Canelo becomes a really interesting fight,” Paul said

In chief support, Shadasia Green takes on the former undisputed super middleweight champion Franchon Crews Dezurn. The vacant WBC super middleweight belt is up for grabs after the current undisputed champion, Savannah Marshall, withdrew from facing Green due to injury. With that being said, here is what Paul and August had to say.
