Professional Career

Zhora Hamazaryan, an Armenian super-featherweight, began his professional career with a unanimous decision victory over Elmir Nadyrov on September 19, 2015, in Moscow. Displaying his power early, he followed up with a knockout win against Tural Garashov two months later, establishing himself as a formidable puncher. Throughout 2015 and 2016, Hamazaryan built an impressive record with victories over opponents such as Oleksii Murashkin, Andrei Nurchynski, and Ahmed Moustafa, often finishing fights within the first few rounds.

Hamazaryan’s rise in the super-featherweight division continued as he captured the WBO Youth lightweight title on July 2, 2016, with a unanimous decision win over Jonathan Jose Eniz. He then secured another knockout victory against Rafael Castillo later that year. His early career showcased his ability to end fights quickly, with many opponents unable to withstand his relentless aggression and power. In 2018, Hamazaryan faced tougher competition, starting with a unanimous decision win against Sergio Ramirez Martinez. However, he encountered setbacks in closely contested bouts against Thomas Mattice, resulting in a split decision loss and a draw in their rematch. Another draw came against Sulaiman Segawa in January 2020, followed by a unanimous decision loss to Arslan Magomedov in October 2020, marking a challenging period in his career.

Hamazaryan rebounded in 2021 with a retirement victory over Dmitry Yun and a technical knockout win against Sherzodjon Abdurazzokov. Despite a unanimous decision loss to Zaur Abdullaev, where he faced multiple knockdowns and point deductions, Hamazaryan showcased resilience and determination. He continued his career with a win against Shodilbek Sharobiddinov in May 2022 and a notable unanimous decision victory over former world champion Jorge Linares in December 2022. Most recently, Hamazaryan secured a unanimous decision win against Francisco Fonseca on May 6, 2023, in Ekaterinburg, demonstrating his continued prowess in the ring.
