Professional Career

Yoshiki Takei, a rising star in the boxing world, has made a significant impact in a relatively short professional career. Starting his journey on March 11, 2021, Takei showcased his potential from the beginning with a first-round TKO victory over Kazunori Takai at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo. This victory set the tone for his aggressive and powerful fighting style, which has been a hallmark of his career. Takei continued his winning streak with a series of impressive knockouts. In his second professional bout, he defeated Azusa Takeda with a first-round TKO, and he repeated this performance against Kazuhiro Imamura in December 2021. His quick finishes highlighted his devastating punching power and ability to dominate opponents early in the fight. This streak of knockouts continued as he moved up the ranks, defeating Shingo Kawamura in two rounds in April 2022.

On August 26, 2022, Takei captured the OPBF super bantamweight title with a fifth-round TKO victory over Pete Apolinar. He successfully defended this title against Bruno Tarimo in December 2022, stopping him in the eleventh round. Takei’s ability to retain his title with a late-round stoppage showcased his stamina and determination, proving he could perform at a high level throughout a full-length championship bout.

In 2023, Takei’s career continued to ascend. He knocked out Ronnie Baldonado in the third round in July and followed this with a second-round knockout of Mario Alberto Diaz in December. These victories set the stage for his most significant achievement to date. On May 6, 2024, Takei faced Jason Moloney at the Tokyo Dome for the WBO bantamweight title. In a hard-fought twelve-round battle, Takei emerged victorious with a unanimous decision, capturing the WBO bantamweight title and solidifying his place among the elite fighters in the division.
