William Zepeda Segura was born on June 6, 1996 in San Mateo Atenco, Mexico. Growing up in a humble environment, he was introduced to boxing at a young age. Inspired by local boxing heroes and the sport’s prominence in his community, Zepeda began his journey into the world of boxing. Entering the professional boxing scene on November 14, 2015, William Zepeda Segura marked his debut with an emphatic statement, securing a third-round knockout (KO) victory over Alonso Salvatierra in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This triumph set the stage for an impressive run in the ring. With an unyielding determination and skillful prowess, Zepeda swiftly rose through the ranks, amassing a record of 11–0 (9 KOs).

 

A significant moment in Zepeda’s career unfolded on October 25, 2017, when he faced Juan Pablo Borbon in Metepec, Mexico. Displaying his mastery in the ring, Zepeda clinched victory via third-round corner retirement (RTD), clinching the vacant WBF Mexican lightweight title. This win not only solidified his standing in the boxing world but also underscored his potential for greatness.

 

Continuing his winning streak, Zepeda showcased his dominance in the ring with a technical knockout (TKO) victory over Jesus Acosta in February 2018. The stage was set for his first title defense against Pedro Solís on April 27 in Culiacán, Mexico. Zepeda’s relentless pursuit of excellence culminated in another title triumph on March 2, 2019, in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. In a thrilling showdown against Eliot Chavez, he emerged victorious with a tenth-round TKO, claiming the vacant WBC FECARBOX Silver lightweight title. With a powerful display of skill and determination, Zepeda defended his title against José Rosales on June 8 in Toluca, Mexico, further solidifying his stature as a rising star in the boxing world.

 

The pinnacle of Zepeda’s career arrived on March 16, 2024, in Las Vegas, where he faced Maxi Hughes in a monumental battle.
