Biography

Professional Career

Edwin De Los Santos began his journey in the ring with a stunning debut on August 25, 2018, when he defeated Jose Vidal Sanchez by a second-round knockout at Hotel Marien in San Ignacio de Sabaneta. This victory set the tone for his early career, characterized by a string of knockout wins against opponents like Carlos Antigua, Ray Acosta Olivero, and Hector Nivar, all within the first few rounds. De Los Santos continued his rise with a significant win against Manuel Botis on November 30, 2018, where he delivered a first-round knockout at Hotel Dominican Fiesta in Santo Domingo. His ability to dispatch opponents quickly became a hallmark of his style, evident in his bout against Francisco Contreras Lopez on March 16, 2019, where he secured a unanimous decision victory, showcasing his skills over six rounds.

In 2019, De Los Santos captured the vacant WBA Fedecaribe Super Featherweight title with a first-round TKO against Antoni Armas. He followed this with another string of knockouts, including a first-round TKO over Andres Bens Zapata in October 2019, and a first-round knockout against Juan Alberto Garcia Perez in February 2020, capturing the WBA Fedecaribe Lightweight title. His momentum continued into 2021 with victories over Pedro Verdu and Luis Montano Alvarez, securing the vacant WBC Latino Super Featherweight title with a first-round TKO against Alvarez. However, his winning streak was interrupted on January 7, 2022, when he faced William Foster III and suffered his first professional loss by split decision.

Undeterred, De Los Santos bounced back with a second-round knockout victory over Luis Acosta in March 2022 and a significant win against the undefeated Jose Valenzuela on September 4, 2022, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, capturing the WBC Continental Americas Lightweight title. He further solidified his reputation with a unanimous decision win over Joseph Adorno in July 2023, defending his title. In his most recent high-profile bout on November 16, 2023, De Los Santos faced the undefeated Shakur Stevenson for the vacant WBC World Lightweight title. Despite a valiant effort, he lost by unanimous decision.
