Andrew Moloney

Starting with a knockout win in his debut in October 2014, Moloney quickly amassed titles, capturing the Australian bantamweight title and the WBA Oceania bantamweight title in 2015 and 2016, respectively. In 2017, Moloney’s prowess in the ring continued to shine as he won the WBA Oceania super-flyweight and Commonwealth super-flyweight titles. His victory over Luis Concepción in September 2018, where he retained the WBA Oceania super-flyweight title, further solidified his standing in the division. Moloney’s upward trajectory continued with a TKO win over Miguel Gonzalez in March 2019, leading to his capture of the WBA interim super-flyweight title in November 2019 by defeating Elton Dharry.

Moloney faced a significant challenge in his trilogy against Joshua Franco. Despite losing their first bout and the third fight ending in a no-contest due to an accidental head clash, Moloney displayed his resilience and determination. He reclaimed his momentum by securing the WBO Oriental super-flyweight title in December 2021 and the WBO International super-flyweight title in October 2022.

In 2023, Moloney pursued the vacant WBO super-flyweight title but faced a setback with a knockout loss to Junto Nakatani. Nevertheless, he bounced back later that year by winning the WBO Global super-flyweight title with a unanimous decision over Judy Flores. His most recent bout, a split decision loss to Pedro Guevara for the vacant WBC interim super-flyweight title in May 2024, underscores Moloney’s relentless pursuit of excellence and championship glory in the super-flyweight division.
