Diaz vs. Masvidal Presser Ends In A Brawl - Punches Were Thrown

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal’s press conference ended in a brawl ahead of their July 6 clash.

The contest takes place at light heavyweight in a ten-rounder. They will cross paths from the Honda Center in Anaheim. It is a rerun of their UFC clash, which took place in 2019 at UFC 244. Masvidal won that bout to become the first BMF Champion. The fight was called off after the end of round three due to a cut above Diaz’s right eye.

Both have had one boxing bout each. Diaz lost to Jake Paul last year, losing a unanimous decision. Meanwhile, Masvidal had one bout, beating Joseph Benjamin via a majority decision in 2005. There were several heated words exchanged between the two fighters. Diaz left the presser and refused to do a face-off. As he did so, a brawl broke out between the two camps. A member of Diaz’s team threw a punch at Masvidal.

Presser

“I came here to whoop…[him] and do my thing. I hope y’all watch. I feel like I’m sick of this (stuff). I’m ready to fight. I’m ready for the show to go on. He better hope he gets the knockout. If not, he’s getting (messed) up,” Nate Diaz

“I’m ready to get in there July 6, take care of business, knock this (guy) out and go chill with my family. Let’s get to it. At the end of the day, all that matters is that I’m in shape and like I said earlier, it’s not going to the judges. And not because of a cut, or nothing, but because of a clean KO. That’s what I’m training for.

“I’ve gotten more time to hone in on the craft, sharper at boxing, every day work on getting a little bit better, craftier and more efficient. All that just means more violence come July 6. On July 4, come celebrate the United States’ birthday and on July 6 come see me end him.

“I’m meaner. I’m faster. [And] I’m more explosive. And when it comes down to it, I think I’ve got the best hands in MMA. On July 6, I get to prove that. No questions, no nothing. We’re going to find out. There’s none of that jiu-jitsu (stuff), none of that hugging, it’s just straight hands,” Masvidal
