Adrien Broner’s Downfall Continues – ‘I Ain’t Got A Dime’

Former four-weight champion Adrien Broner has made a shocking admission that he is broke, just hours after promoter Don King announced his return.
Broner revealed his financial struggles on social media, emphasising that he still wants to fight for King but needs to prioritize himself. The post came at the same time as King’s confirmation that Broner will be on an October 4 card in Miami. An opponent for Broner has not yet been named, but in the meantime, he has been vocal about his frustration.
Broner Reacts
“I love Don King so much I’m still trying to become world champion under his umbrella, but the way things are going right now, I’ve got to think about myself ’cause he’s already a billionaire and I ain’t got a damn dime. I know I can call some of my close friends for money, but my pride is in the way, but this shit is diabolical. Make it make sense. Even though I lost my last fight, no disrespect, but that n**** still isn’t a bigger draw than me.
“I just want to get back in shape and make my own money. I ain’t asking for a handout, but if I have nowhere to stay or no fight date (October 4 is no), I guess I just got to sell drugs to take care of my 10 kids and family. MFs said f*** me, so f*** it, call me, I will beat your plug price for great w**d,” Broner said
Broner’s public admission of being broke is the reality that many saw coming. While his career earnings are estimated to be in the millions, his lavish lifestyle and poor financial decisions have led him to this point. Broner’s social media accounts have often featured him flaunting a lavish lifetstyle. This coupled with a lack of consistent, high-paying fights has drained his fortune. Additionally, reports have surfaced about large gambling losses.
His decision to sign with Don King also raises concerns. King has a long and controversial history with fighters regarding payment and contract disputes. While King may be able to secure him some paydays, many in the boxing world are skeptical that this partnership will solve Broner’s long-term financial problems.
Broner is no longer a world-beater, as shown by his recent loss to Blair Cobbs, but he can still be a valuable “gatekeeper” or a recognizable name for younger fighters to test themselves against. However, for now, Broner’s future is unclear.
