Yodnumchai Fairtex Continues Excellence at ONE Friday Night Fights 80
Yodnumchai Fairtex has to slowly have gained the respect of his veteran opponents in ONE Championship. They have no choice but to be impressed. It has been a year since Yodnumchai joined ONE, and he has already been called on to fight six times. Yodnumchai showed why Friday night at Lumpinee Stadium.
During an atomweight Muay Thai bout with Rak Erawan, the 20-year-old Thai fighter continued to add to his impressive accolades. Yodnumchai mixed his striking up well to grab his sixth consecutive victory by winning a unanimous decision.
According to online boxing news, Yodnumchai put Erawan on wobbly legs early in the first round. Erawan wasn’t going to go away easily, however. After absorbing what Yodnumchai had to offer, Erawan landed several stiff uppercuts to get back in the fight.
The second and third rounds featured a lot of output from both men. While Yodnumchai earned a win from all three judges, Erawan picked up the pace. Yodnumchai had to pace himself well in order to survive the scorecards.
Chartpayak Deploys Lethal Weapon
Chartpayak Saksatoon never suffered a mental letdown when things weren’t going well in a 127-pound catchweight bout with Petnamngam PK Saenchai. During the early part of the fight, Chartpayak was caught off guard when Petnamngam landed a nasty head kick. The MMAfighting latest news indicated that Petnamngam didn’t admire his work for long.
He fired off another left kick that left Chartpayak on the ground in pain. When Chartpayak returned to his feet and beat the count, he had to change up his plan of attack. In the second round, Chartpayak could open up and connect on combinations to the body and head.
Before Petnamngam could mount a defense, Chartpayak fired off a nasty left hook that planted Petnamngam on the canvas. The referee waived the fight 28 seconds into the second round.
Let’s Not Waste Any Time
Teeyai Wankhongohm MBK didn’t want to waste any time before collecting his check from his atomweight Muay Thai fight with Yoddoi Kaewsamrit. More amazingly, the latest boxing news online shows this was Teeyai’s second fight in three weeks. Teeyai took advantage of Yoddoi being overly aggressive.
Teeyai allowed Yoddoi to wade in before firing off a left hook that scored the first knockdown. He would follow up with a second left hook that secured a stop to the fight. Teeyai is now 2-0 in ONE, as he also scored a knockdown during ONE Friday Nights 77 just three weeks ago.
Teeyai’s first knockout came at 1:30.
Lamnamkhong Finds Way Into Win Column
Lamnamkhong BS Muaythai added some flair to what was a spectacular night of knockouts. During Lamnamkhong’s career, he has always been an emotional fighter who likes to try and inflict pain on his opponents. Lamnamkhong had a perfect dance partner for that kind of fight when he challenged Anurak Wankhongohm MBK in a 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai battle.
Anurak found out in the first minute why it was a bad idea to employ that style. During the first 60 seconds, Lanamkhong landed a left hand that left his opponent on the canvas. While Anurak beat the count, he never really was competitive again.
Lamnamkhong forced Anurak to try and fight him from the clinch. Lamnamkhong was able to secure two more knockdowns in the first round. The third one of the first round brought the fight to an end.
Petninmungkorn Had the Perfect Plan
Having a signature punch or attack can set up the foundation for many successful fighters. The only issue for being known for a particular attack is that any strong opponent should be trying to scout how to counter that. Petninmungkorn Captainkaneboxing was searching for several indicators that Komkrit J Power Roof Phuket would throw a particular kick during a 114-pound catchweight fight.
Petninmungkorn’s strategy was to try and fire off hooks when a kick came his way. During the first round, Petninmungkorn landed his fair share of stiff strikes to avoid Komkrit’s kicking game. When Petninmungkorn cornered his opponent in the second round, Komkrit returned to what he knows best.
Komkrit attempted to back Petninmungkorn up by firing out his signature kick. Petninmungkorn ended up responding with a right cross that stunned Komkrit. When Komkrit attempted to rebound, Petninmungkorn followed up with another cross that put him down for good.
Nongam Loses Her Momentum
Nongam Fairtex had to feel good about her chances of moving to 6-0 in ONE. She was paired with an 18-year-old opponent in Chabakaew Sor KanJanchai, who had split her first two fights in the organization. But no matter what the paper says before any fight, backing up the promise in the ring isn’t always quite as even.
Chabakaew was able to fluster Nongam by being aggressive and throwing counters. During the final round, Chabakaew worked behind her jab and continued to look to counter any time Nongam came forward.
Two of the three judges awarded Chabakaew the upset victory.
