Yamin PK Saenchi and Joachim Ouraghi debuted in ONE Championship with performances that caught the attention of fans. Both men produced knockouts and introduced themselves on good terms for the promotion. When the two men were paired together for a lightweight Muay Thai bout Friday night, Yamin showed he may have more staying power on the big stage.

Online boxing news shows that Yamin put a stop to the fight just 36 seconds into the first round. Yamin fired off a head kick that had bad intentions. While Ouraghi was able to put his hand to block the kick, that ended up being the worst-case scenario for the French fighter.

Ouraghi immediately looked at his finger in his glove, obviously in discomfort. The referee noticed and called for an injury timeout. When the ringside doctor took a peek at the damage done by the kick, he asked that the fight be waived off.

While the result was a bit anticlimactic, Yamin continued to build momentum in the promotion. He is now 2-0 in ONE Championship and has 84 victories in 112 career fights.

Yodthongthai Sor Sommai Grabs Catchweight Victory

Yodthongthai Sor Sommai didn’t wear down during his bout with Petnamngam PK Saenchai. Instead, after Petnamngam landed better strikes to open up the fight, Yodthongthai responded with increased pressure. During the second round, Yodthongthai began to launch a lot of kicks at Petnamngam and slowly wore down his opponent.

Petnamngam continued to try to adjust to the pressure but wasn’t able to impress the judges with his efforts. Yodthongthai has been slowly stacking wins throughout his career. Boxing updates tonight show that Yodthonthai now has 58 wins and has won twice in ONE Championship.

Rambong Grinds Out Another Victor

Rambong Sor Therapat didn’t come out of his fight with Petphupa Aekpujean. During the second, Rambong took a heavy head kick that briefly had him seeing stars. Petphupa is only 18 years old and will likely have a successful career if he can continue to challenge veteran fighters like he did Rambong.

Almost from the outset of the fight, Petphupa fired out a heavy output of punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. Rambong didn’t seem too flabbergasted by the attacks and responded by employing a boxing-heavy style. It ended up being a difficult style for the judges to score. Neither man seemed to run out of gas.

Both fighters put out a heavy amount of volume. Rambong should feel lucky to have won a split decision after two judges had seen things his way.

Kaimookkhao Puts on Striking Clinic

Kaimookkhao Tor Rangmart has been a busy fighter. At only 18 years old, Kaimookkhao now has 42 fights under his belt. Kaimookkhao fought like a man much older than his age against Petparuehat Sitnayoktaweeptaphong in a 121-pound catchweight bout. Kaimookkhao started out the fight by investing in strikes to the body.

During the second round, Kaimookkhao focused on landing heavy kicks that kept Petparuehat off balance. During the last round, Kaimookkhao kept the pressure on his opponent. While Petparuehat attempted to keep pace, he wasn’t able to do enough to secure a win. Kaimookkhao picked up an easy decision win.

Picking Up a Stylish Victory

On a night when many of the fights at the top of the card went the distance, Pettasuea Seeopal delivered a performance that helped him stand out from the pack. Pettasuea, 19, leaned on his pressure on power to collect an impressive victory. Late in the second round, Pettasuea turned out the lights for his opponent, Prom Yor Andaman.

Pettasuea launched a head kick that caught Prom in the area of his chin and neck. While Prom initially tried to step forward to counter, he went crashing face-first into the mat. The referee tried to give him a count.

However, when Prom went to stand up, he wasn’t able to stand up without wobbling and the fight was waived off immediately.

Debutant Impresses in Strawweight Muay Thai Bout

Yodkitti FiatPathum enjoyed his first trip around the ring in ONE Championship—not that he had to go very far. Yodkitti, 19, quickly went to the center of the ring to exchange with Luapong Kaewsamrit during their Muay Thai bout. Yodkitti was the only one who came away from that particular exchange with good feelings.

Yodkitti stung Luapong with a stiff left hand only minutes into the fight. Once Luapong showed he was vulnerable, Yodkitti pressured forward. He would unleash a number of body shots and combinations to Luapong’s midsection. The onslaught forced Luapong to the canvas.

He couldn’t beat the count, and Yodkitti ended up finishing the fight in just 25 seconds.

Siwakorn Takes Down Jurayev

Siwakorn PK Saenchai didn’t shy away from a back-and-forth affair with Shakhriyor Jurayev. Siwakorn had to adjust his strategy after his opponent started strong. Jurayev surged forward almost immediately and attempted to set up his strong left-handed attacks by doing a lot of work to the body.

While Round 1 ended up being rough for Siwakorn, he ended up turning things around in the second round. Instead of sitting back and absorbing pressure, Siwakorn pushed forward himself. By putting the pressure on Jurayev, Siwakorn ended up being able to find a home for his combinations.

He was able to keep the pressure on and secure a unanimous decision victory. There was plenty of action at ONE Friday Night Fights 59. Here’s a rundown on the fights that happened that weren’t listed above:

  • Muay Thai (126 pounds), Takuma Ota win by knockout over Copter Sor Sommai, Round 2 1:27
  • Muay Thai (132 pounds), Yuki Kasahara win by knockout over Petsimok PK Saenchai
