Valentina Shevchenko Fires Back At Maycee Barber

Valentina Shevchenko fired back at Maycee Barber after the contender questioned Shevchenko’s personality and commercial appeal.
The comments come as Barber prepares to face former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso in a title eliminator. The controversy started when Ronda Rousey used Shevchenko as an example during a recent tirade against UFC fighter pay. Promoting her upcoming Netflix bout with Gina Carano, Rousey claimed that even dominant champions like Shevchenko are forced to sell “pictures of their t—ties” on OnlyFans just to make ends meet.
Shevchenko was quick to dismiss Rousey’s characterization of her platform, which she launched on New Year’s Eve 2024: “It’s 2026. Fighters using OnlyFans is just a new way to connect with fans. Looks like Ronda slept too long after her last fight in 2016.”
Barber injected herself into the feud during the UFC Seattle media day on March 26. Barber took Rousey’s side, stating that Rousey is the only reason women like Shevchenko even have a platform in the UFC.
Reaction
Barber directly linked Shevchenko’s business ventures to a perceived lack of charisma. Hearing the remarks, Shevchenko laughed off the critique. “Maycee is like a silly baby,” the champion said. “She talks because she wants to be noticed. First, she must get past Alexa, then we can see if she has enough ‘personality’ to survive five rounds with me.”
“Ronda Rousey is the reason why Valentina gets to fight in the UFC. And Valentina’s lack of personality is the reason why Valentina has an [OnlyFans],” Barber
“By the time your ‘idol’ first stepped into the Octagon as an amateur fighter, I was already World MMA Champion with a 7-0 pro record,” Shevchenko stated
