Terence Crawford confirmed he has undergone a successful surgical procedure.

Sharing a photo from his hospital bed, Crawford addressed his followers: “Surgery went great. Now it’s time to recover and get some rest. I hate going under, but I’m good everyone.” While he did not specify the nature of the surgery, the boxing community has suspected a shoulder injury following his win against “Canelo” Alvarez last September.

Shoulder Issue

During the lead-up to the September 13, 2025, clash, reports surfaced that Crawford was battling a shoulder injury that had allegedly “flared up” during his training camp. At the time, Crawford vehemently dismissed the speculation, even mockingly rotating his shoulders for reporters during grand arrivals to prove his fitness.

Despite any potential pain, Crawford beat Canelo via a unanimous decision (116-112, 115-113 x2) and became the first male boxer to be undisputed in three different divisions. For months, rumors persisted that Crawford might be lured out of retirement. However, this surgical intervention effectively silences that chatter for the foreseeable future. Crawford’s decision to “go under” now reinforces his December statement that he has “nothing left to prove.”
